Black men and church... where are they?

Image
Where I grew up in the small town of Beaufort, South Carolina, we were so used to seeing a whole family pack in their cars to go to church for Sunday service. Even if we haven't seen that father all week, we knew we'd see him going to church with his family. God was important to black men then. Fathers would hurriedly rush the entire family out of the house for the short drive to church, and nobody was safe. Everybody was going to church THAT day. What happened? Where are the black men in church now? Why have they fallen away from their rightful duty to bring their families closer to God? And why are some married men staying at home while their wives are serving God? Where does this COME from?

"Some in positions of power were threatened by our actions, and as a result we became targets" said Ms. Wilkerson outside the courthouse. Wilkerson's lawyer, Max Stern, called the outcome of the case a "tragedy of monumental proportions." Wilkerson pleaded guilty o

Black Church and Money - Blessing? Or Curse?

Image
Has the Black church become to obsessed with money? Have Christians become too fixated with money? So much so that a dollar is considered a blessing? How should we bless those who have all the money in the world but simply desire to be healed of afflictions which torment them day and night? With MORE money? It's time us Christians began to look at what's really considered a blessing and stop fooling ourselves about money and what a "blessing" it is. Michael Jackson was defintely rich. So was OJ... nuff said Look at this video and tell me what you think about this preacher and his "money annointing"

If you missed the episode of jay Leno on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 where he interviewed the incomparable Queen Latifah, you missed the Zulu Nation Queen put Jay Leno in check when he tried to pull her into a "dream" of being a part of the British royal Family, namely Prince William (who is engaged to be married). Jay asked Queen if she had any advice for the future Princess and Latifah responded "I think she pretty much has that all figured out. But she better enjoy these moments before the media gets her." When Jay casually tried to throw a bone at The Queen asking "{So how would you feel if YOU were the one Prince William chose? Would you like that?" Queen Latifah, ever the Zulu Queen that she is said: "Maybe if he was the Prince of Zumundo or the Prince of Zaire. But naw, I'm good as the Queen right here in Amerika!" pick another hoochie, Jay. Not EVERY black woman dreams of being swept off her feet by a white man.
