Rapper Beanie Sigel Shot Outside His New Jersey Home

Image
Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel was shot after an apparent fight outside a Jersey Shore home, police tell NBC10. His attorney believes the rapper was not the intended target. The shooting happened around 9:20 a.m. Friday outside the home where he lives along the 800 block of Spruce Avenue in Pleasantville, New Jersey, police said. "From the first appearance, it would appear that there was some sort of altercation next to that property," Pleasantville Police Chief Jose Ruiz said.   Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was hit in the stomach by a bullet that traveled out his back, police said. He was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery, Sigel's attorney, Fortunato Perri, Jr., told NBC10. Sigel remains sedated and in critical condition following that procedure, officials said. Perri, Jr. said the 40-year-old rapper had just returned home from dropping his kids off at school when he came upon the fight near his house.

Unarmed Man Shot At By NYPD Has Been Charged With Assault Because Bullets Hit Bystanders

Image
by Rania Khalek on December 5, 2013 35-year-old Glenn Broadnax (Ken Murray / New York Daily News) Glenn Broadnax, a 35-year-old Black man from Brooklyn, was unarmed on the night of September 14 when NYPD officers shot at him in the middle of Times Square, striking two bystanders. Instead of apologizing, the New York Times reports that the city has charged Broadnax “with assault, on the theory that he was responsible for bullet wounds suffered by two bystanders.” Broadnax was emotionally disturbed and dodging cars in the middle of the street when officers say he reached into his pocket to grab what they believed was a weapon, prompting them to open fire. His lawyers says he was reaching for his wallet. So, because the NYPD is made up of trigger happy, crappy marksmen who fire at unarmed black people with impunity, Broadnax might spend up to 25 years in prison on trumped up assault charges, which the Manhattan district attorney insisted on: Initially

Bill Cosby Thanks Whoopi Goldberg and Jill Scott for Defending Him

Image
Bill Cosby is breaking his silence, if only slightly, to thank actress Whoopi Goldberg and singer/actress Jill Scott for their support amid the increasing number of rape allegations against him. Cosby took to Twitter to give his thanks: Scott, who played James Brown's wife in the biopic "Get On Up," defended Cosby last week on Twitter when a user posted a petition asking Temple University to end its relationship with the comedian. "oh ok. So they've proven the alleged allegations?" Scott asked the user Sunday. "I didn't know. Will they also be giving him back the millions he's donated?" When other Twitter users questioned Scott, she still stood by him. "U know Bill Cosby?" she tweeted. "I do child and this is insane. Proof. Period." She then tweeted about the controversy: Goldberg defended the star on "The View" in November, saying she was skeptical

THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF NEW YORK DECLARES WAR ON YOUNG AMERICA

Image
The recent decision of a grand jury not to indict Darren Wilson for the murder of 18-year-old Michael Brown caused civil unrest in Ferguson and lit a fuse in the hearts of young Americans of all races and backgrounds everywhere. New York City added fuel to the smoldering fire when today a grand jury decided against indicting officer Daniel Pantaleo for his role in the murder of Eric Garner. The Universal Zulu Nation views this type of behavior by the police unconstitutional, inhumane, dehumanizing and down right criminal. We have warned the youth for over 41 years that their lives are in jeopardy when dealing with the unjust laws and systems set up and designed to destroy the youth. The latest 100 or so days is proof that there is a war on our youth and culture. Not only in this nation of ours, but worldwide. Our President has only spoken briefly about the subject, and has carefully chosen his words so not to cause issue with the men and women in law enforcement who have run a muck

Graco Recalls 6 Million Child Seats: Feds Investigate

Image
Dec 1, 2014, 6:59 PM ET By MATT HOSFORD, CINDY GALLI and LEE FERRA   The federal government announced today it will investigate whether child product maker Graco delayed what the government called the largest child seat recall in U.S. history after learning of a safety defect in the seats’ harness buckles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in a press release that manufacturers have a maximum of five days to notify their agency once they “reasonably know that an item of motor vehicle equipment, such as a car seat, contains a safety related defect” and will be investigating whether Graco “violated the law.” “There is no excuse for delaying a recall to address any safety related defect,” NHTSA Deputy Administrator David Friedman said in the release. “If Graco delayed in protecting children and infants from this defect, we will hold them accountable.” NHTSA said it had applied “continued pressure” to Graco be

What To Do If You’re Stopped By The Police

Image
We all recognize the need for effective law enforcement, but we should also understand our own rights and responsibilities — especially in our interactions with the police. This card tells you what to do if you are stopped, questioned, arrested, or injured in your encounter with the police, and how to file a complaint. IF YOU HAVE A POLICE ENCOUNTER, YOU CAN PROTECT YOURSELF. What you say to the police is always important. Everything you say can be used against you. You have the right not to speak. To exercise this right, you should tell the police, “I would like to remain silent.” You never have to consent to a search of yourself, your belongings, your car or your house. If you do consent to a search, it can affect your rights later in court. If the police say they have a search warrant, ask to see it. If they don’t, say “I do not consent to this search.” Police cannot arrest you simply for refusing to consent to a search. This may not stop the search

White House Staffer Who Dissed Obama Girls Was Arrested As A Teen

Image
The Republican congressional aide who castigated the Obama daughters for their lack of “class” and dressing as if they were angling for a “spot at a bar” was once arrested for larceny during her own “awful teen years,” court records show. In a November 27 Facebook post , Elizabeth Lauten criticized Sasha and Malia Obama for looking bored while their father pardoned a pair of turkeys the day before Thanksgiving. While noting that, “I get you’re both in those awful teen years,” Lauten, 31, counseled the teens to “try showing a little class. At least respect the part you play.” In her “Dear Sasha and Malia” note, Lauten remarked that the president and First Lady Michelle Obama “don’t respect their positions very much, or the nation for that matter, so I’m guessing you’re coming up a little short in the ‘good role model’ department.” Lauten concluded by urging the girls to “Rise to the occasion. Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve res

Rudy Giuliani's Father A THUG: He Did 8 Years For Armed Robbery

Image
Here's some HARD BOILED TRUTH about the THUG FATHER of Mayor Rudy Giuliani: In 1934, Harold Giuliani was busted in a botched two-man robbery of a milkman. The accomplice got away. Giuliani made things worse for himself by initially giving a false name. Although no one in Giuliani's family had a prayer of posting his $5,000 bail, apparently he had friends who could. Three days after being arrested, he was bailed out by one Valentine Spielman. Meanwhile, the milkman, apparently after being visited by several people at 4 in the morning who threatened him, recanted his original story and said that it was the other man, not Giuliani, who had pressed a gun to his stomach. How conveeeeeeenient! The sudden change in the victim's testimony meant a reduction in charges against Giuliani, who pled guilty to one count of robbery in the third degree. Although Giuliani's lawyer pled for leniency, the judge was unmoved. "I am a very sympathetic judge, he explain
