OPEN LETTER TO PAY-FOR-PLAY MIXSHOW AND MIXTAPE DEEJAYS

Image
I will address this letter to both mixshow deejays AND mixtape deejays, which of course, includes the fast-growing internet deejays. Props given to DJ Just Hits of www.jamcityamerica.com, DJ Ben Hop and the people at www.mocradio.com for running their radio stations like TRUE radio: with DECENCY and DIGNITY. However, we have a problem in the U.S. with radio stations popping up all over the country and paying their rent, mortgage, etc., off the backs of the sweat of artists who only want to get their music on the radio. I don't want to hear how bad you gotta eat, because every promoter that comes through with a B.S. party in your neighborhood can get 1,000 free mentions as long as you can get in with three of your cronies. I'm blank-staring you right now. It is SUPPOSED to work like THIS: You get a radio station, you find good music, you pay BMI or ASCAP a LICENSE FEE to PLAY music by the Jay-Z's, Justin Timberlakes, or whomEVER's music you're feeling at the mo

Preachers of LA: Bishop Clarence McClendon says he was SET UP by TV producers

Image
Oxygen’s controversial reality series “ Preachers of LA ” is only one week in and apparently, one of its stars is having second thoughts about his participation on the show. In a video message that was posted online, Bishop Clarence McClendon tells supporters that what he signed on to do is not what the show has become. “First of all, when I was approached with it, they said it wasn’t a reality show, they said it was a docu-series. Again, I was not involved in the genesis of the project. I’ve had a number of things come to me like this, a number of people come to me with certain opportunities and I’ve turned them down,” he explained, as he stood in what appears to be the foyer of his home. The 53-year-old preacher, who often refers to himself in third person, said he knew the producers involved with the show – L. Plummer Media in association with Relevé Entertainment – and trusted that their relationship with God would govern their approach to developing this series.

Woman Arrested for Twerking in front of Kids on a School Bus

Image
Added by James on October 8, 2013. A woman was charged with disorderly conduct for twerking in front of kids on a school bus in Florida.  Valerie Dixon has been charged with disorderly conduct after the 27-year old woman bent over and showed the kids what she was working with. The woman had one hand on her ankle during her performance, and the other on her private parts.   She was spotted by a cop, who wasn’t happy with what he saw. Dixon is not the first high profile case where the popular dance has gotten someone into trouble.  A total of 30 students were suspended from a high school in San Diego after making a twerking video that putting it on youtube.  Parents and teachers were outraged as their daughters were on the video dancing in provocative ways, sometimes upside down, to vulgar rap music. As for Dixon, she’d been banned from local businesses for her behavior in the past, but this was her first criminal charge.   She was released from jail af

Bishop T.D Jakes about “Preachers Of LA”,” I Rebuke That Spirit In The Name Of Jesus Christ”

Oxygen’s latest reality show ‘ Preacher Of LA ‘ delivered the network strongest debut ratings (1.1 million), however Dallas-based MegaChurch leader Bishop T.D. Jakes is not too pleased with the show and the preachers presented themselves. According to BUZZ, Bishop Jakes shared with The Potter’s House this past Sunday a few critiques of the show during his sermon.  Here is what he had to say: “Now, I know you been watching that junk on TV. I want to tell you right now, not one dime of what you’re sowing right now will buy my suit. I want you to know my car is paid for. I want you to know I got my house on my own. I want you to know I’m not bling-blinging. I am not shake and bake. I had money when I came to Dallas and I plan to have some when I leave You did not buy what I got. I had it when I came here. You know I had it when I came here. The devil is a lie! I have sold enough books and produced enough movies. I don’t need your offering to pay for this little

NRB warns of IRS investigation of Preachers of LA reality TV show

Image
According to the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), the newest reality TV show by Oxygen, “Preachers of LA,” could lead to the IRS or Senate starting an investigation into church finances.   The NRB went on to say that the reason they believe this is because the program shows six high-profile pastors “living the God life” and enjoying their lifestyles of expensive cars and mansions. However, Jay Haizlip, participant in the show and senior pastor of “The Sanctuary,” said that “It’s going to be phenomenal for the church. I think the traditional church is scared to death right now because this is a non-traditional approach to getting outside its walls. It isn’t a Jesus crusade or a talking head show on Christian TV. I think it’ll be very beneficial.” Several Christian leaders were asked if the show could be good for the church and here’s what they had to say: Warren Cole Smith, associate publisher of World Magazine, said that the s

McDonald's Mighty Wings NFL commercial is racist bafoonery

Image
There has got to be something said about how McDonald's and so many other corporations lure black entertainers into dancing for chicken. MC Hammer did the Hammer dance for KFC's Popcorn Chicken a few years back, and not a year goes by that another restaurant introduces chicken with a black person dancing on the screen, at the expense of black people everywhere. Many have already expressed their anger over the new TV ad, and McDonald's is obviously not ashamed, otherwise, the ad would have never run in the first place. But McDonald's, here is what you need to know: we are NOT going for it again. And we WILL fight BACK. With all of the racist jokes that have been told about black people and chicken, it's a wonder, the producers of these TV commercials always luck up to find someone willing to do the "nigger dance" for chicken. I'm sure McDonald's will say the dance scenes ideas came from the people who took part in the dancing, and were probab
