Queen Latifah Keeps it REAL with Jay Leno

Image
If you missed the episode of jay Leno on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 where he interviewed the incomparable Queen Latifah, you missed the Zulu Nation Queen put Jay Leno in check when he tried to pull her into a "dream" of being a part of the British royal Family, namely Prince William (who is engaged to be married). Jay asked Queen if she had any advice for the future Princess and Latifah responded "I think she pretty much has that all figured out. But she better enjoy these moments before the media gets her." When Jay casually tried to throw a bone at The Queen asking "{So how would you feel if YOU were the one Prince William chose? Would you like that?" Queen Latifah, ever the Zulu Queen that she is said: "Maybe if he was the Prince of Zumundo or the Prince of Zaire. But naw, I'm good as the Queen right here in Amerika!" pick another hoochie, Jay. Not EVERY black woman dreams of being swept off her feet by a white man.

Mark Wahlberg from the Hood to Hollywood

Image
Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg has made it clear that he doesn't want to be known as Marky Mark, doesn't want to revisit his past as a rapper, and wishes to move on as Mark Wahlberg, the actor. However, Wahlberg should NEVER forget his roots as a rapper from the Dorchester section of Boston, Massachusetts. In 1991, Mark was the leader of 'Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch', a Hip-Hop group complete with a deejay and backup dancers. Marie "Free" Wright formerly of B.E.T's "106 and Park" video show was also a part of the group. The group's first single, "Good Vibrations" went gold then platinum, and the second single, "Wild Side" went gold, kicking off a head start for the platinum album, "Music for the People". Hip-Hoppers worldwide could never forget the contribution Mark Wahlberg made to the culture, neither should Mark. Here's a video clip from E! True Hollywood Story's piece on Mark Wahlberg's rap p...

Do We March and Rally Too Much?

Image
I heard a brother say earlier this year "All this marching for what?" And I didn't bite my tongue when I checked my brother for his involuntary negro spirit. We all know revolution is a process, and most believe the revolution won't be televised. But understand this...if we follow our free speech rights to the letter and make demands LIVE ON TV for the capture of murderers and rapists in our community, we can create AWARENESS. This campaign of consistent outrage at the least bit of violence in our community against our women and children will show and prove that WE ARE NOT SAVAGES who are BUILT FOR DESTRUCTION, MAYHEM and MURDER. The way anyone would see it, with respects to our SO distorted "stop snitchin" code of misconduct - we're all crime-bound and support murder and violent crimes. Dr. Martin Luther King marched and rallied for years ON LIVE TV. To some, he appeared to be headed nowhere with his complaints against local government and police. Bu...

Respect The Architect

The past few years have shown the total sales of Hip-Hop spiral downward at the highest rate ever. The cause? So-called rappers who have no clue what real Hip-Hop is, and who choose to openly disrespect the originators and keepers of the keys to the true culture of Hip-Hop. It would be a travesty if Louis Farrakhan took over the Lost Found Nation of Islam to openly disrespect Malcolm, Elijah and the Mahdi, Fard Muhammad for the sake of self-gratification and promotion. Instead, Farrakhan controlled the Nation and kept with the directives of Elijah so the Nation would survive and withstand the outside pressure of naysayers and other frauds. Hip-Hop? Rappers took a liking to certain radio stations and deejays, created a clique of so-called "Hip-Hoppers" and programmed the minds of the youth who had NO CLUE of Hip-Hop's culture and true history. Instead, the children are programmed garbage and false, reckless misrepresentation of the truth. The labels that control these NO...
