“We just wanted one f*cking night to ourselves” — that was the reaction of one black woman after Hillary Clinton made a “surprise” appearance Friday night at BET’s 10th annual “Black Girls Rock” awards show in Newark, New Jersey. While many people would be grateful to be graced by the presence of such a seemingly important person, don’t count these black women among them. “Hillary Clinton appearing at Black Girls Rock seems to disingenuous to me,” Twitter user @Frannyxo wrote. “Anna Stesia” called it a “desperate move,” while Misha Carter responded , “She still won’t get my vote.” In February, Hillary made a “surprise” appearance at a gospel awards show in Las Vegas, Nevada “We all face troubles don’t we,” she told the audience. “And it’s easy to get discouraged. And then all of a sudden maybe you hear a song in church, you hear it on the radio, maybe a friend is singing it,” she said, before reciting a portion of “ His Eye Is On The Sparrow ....
