Victor Castillo, Walmart Employee, Fired Over $106,000 Scam

The Huffington Post  |  By Catherine Taibi A 23-year-old Walmart employee in Hobbs, N.M., has been fired after police arrested him for allegedly stealing more than $106,000 worth of fake money orders, company spokesperson Kayla Whaling told The Huffington Post Monday. Police estimate the employee , Victor Castillo, began running the scam as early as April, and would take about $1,000 with each order, according to New Mexico News. Walmart discovered the money was missing after a company audit in July , Hobbs police Capt. Michael Walker told local TV news station KRQE, and Walmart's loss-prevention team subsequently began monitoring video surveillance of the store. “The way he was doing it they were almost untrackable," Walker told KRQE . PROVINCETOWN - A 58-year-old Boston man was arrested early Saturday and charged with several sex offenses including rape of a child after park rangers reportedly discovered him having sex with a 15-year-old girl in a car in an undisclosed location in Provincetown. The incident, according to a Provincetown police release, occurred around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. Richard David Jemmott of Boston is a convicted sex offender, according to police. Jemmott was placed under arrest and transported to the Provincetown Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault and battery on a person 14 or over, rape of a child, two counts of statutory rape of a child, subsequent offense and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.     Racist taunts against Italy's first black minister, Cecile Kyenge, took another ugly turn over the weekend when someone hurled bananas at her during a rally. Kyenge's appointment as Italy's minister of integration three months ago isn't sitting well with right-wing radicals whose racial slurs and antics have overshadowed her tenure. The banana incident is just the latest. It took place Friday in Cervia, where Kyenge was speaking to supporters. A man popped up out of the crowd and launched two bananas toward the podium, Kyenge spokesman Cosimo Torlo said. The bananas fell short of the stage, landing between the first and second row of spectators. Giancarlo Mazzuca, chief editor of the daily newspaper Il Giorno, was sitting two chairs away from Kyenge.
