Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Django Unchained starring Jamie Foxx is a hit but folks are outraged that movie execs approved a slave doll. The eight-inch tall figurines, which include depictions of “house slave” Stephen (played by Samuel L Jackson in the film) and Jamie Foxx’s Django, have been produced by the National Entertainment Collectibles Association following consultation with the Weinstein Company, which produced Tarantino’s film. Najee Ali, director of the Los Angeles civil rights organization Project Islamic Hope, said the toys are “a slap in the face of our ancestors” and is calling for their removal from sale. “We were outraged,” Ali said. “We feel it trivializes the horrors of slavery and what African Americans experienced.” However, Ali is not opposed to the depiction of slavery in Django Unchained, nor its liberal use of the word “nigger”. Target is NOT playing when it comes to deals! Tar-Jay says it will match Amazon’s prices 365 days a year! The discount chain said it would match prices of some online competitors all year, instead of just over the holidays. In addition to Amazon, Target will match prices from itself, Best Buy, Walmart and Toys R Us, Reuters reported. By matching Amazon’s prices, Target is ensuring that customers won’t check out a product in a retail store and then order it for cheaper from Amazon. The announcement comes after Target reported that sales in December were whack! In July, network chief Kevin Reilly told reporters the special wouldn’t be airing any time soon, leaving open just the slightest chance of an eventual burn-off broadcast. Atlanta police have identified a female suspect in the shooting death of 23-year-old up-and-coming rapper, Justin “Yung Teddy” Mitchell. Yachari Kiyana Miller was charged for allegedly sending text message to Mitchell. Among the messages included “You a dead man walking,” and “This your year to die,” all of which Mitchell posted online. A day later he was dead. Mitchell’s body was found at a home in Austell, Ga. last week. Since there were witnesses to the fatal shooting , police are looking to apprehend two people believed to be involved but have yet to make any arrests. Both described as Black men, the first suspect is between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-6 and covered his face with a navy blue bandana. The second suspect is described as being roughly 20 to 23 years old, has a thin build, and stands between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9. An alleged video model, accused in the death of another woman, following a concrete-filled butt injection procedure was apprehended in Memphis, last week. Natasha Stewart, who also goes by the name Pebbelz Da Model, is famed for her “48-inch backside” and was wanted for questioning in the demise of a female victim in Jackson, Miss. Stewart is believed to have referred 37-year-old Karima Gordon, seen below, to someone who was clearly not a law-abiding doctor—and perhaps not even a medical professional. The other culprit, Morris Garner, also known as Tracey Lynn Garner filled the woman’s backside with the dangerous substance in an attempt to give her a more curvaceous figure. A 22-year-old FOOL is accused of setting his girlfriend on fire following a stupid argument about clothes at a San Francisco laundromat. 25 year old Starr Lamare, is in critical condition, but is expected to recover, her family says. “Most of her face is burnt,” Precious Craig, the victim’s sister, told KGO in San Francisco. “Just a little bit of hair is still there, but most of her face is burned.” Authorities are looking for Dexter Oliver, who is facing attempted murder charges. Lamare’s relatives say Oliver became so pissed during the argument that he sprinted home to get gasoline and then ran back to the laundromat. “My sister wanted to leave her clothes at the laundromat so they could get washed but he didn’t want to leave them there, she said she does it all the time, but he got mad and threw the clothes down,” Craig says. Jason Lewis was at the counter of the Country House Diner in Clinton Hill, NY about 5 a.m. when a drunken Tyrone Gainer started grabbing Lewis’ girlfriend, witnesses said. She said something to Gainer and then Lewis, 34, intervened. Gainer, 27, smacked Lewis in the face. “Why’d you smack me?” Lewis demanded. “We don’t have to shed blood for this.” Gainer apparently disagreed, whipping out a .22-caliber handgun and ending the argument with senseless violence. La Scala refused to seat the former Supreme when she arrived for lunch, since its policy is not to seat incomplete parties unless there is a reservation—and Ross’ daughter wasn’t there yet. Ross was also told that if she insisted on staying in the booth, she would not be served, but she stayed put. Long-time civil rights activist Myrlie Evers-Williams will deliver the invocation at President Obama’s inauguration, the Presidential Inauguration Committee (PIC) announced Tuesday. As the widow of civil rights activist Medgar Evers, who was killed in his driveway in a racially charged murder in June 1963 in Jackson, Miss., her participation is significant in the second inauguration of the first black president. His murder was one of several events that year that contributed to the launch of the civil rights movement, which turns 50 this year. Evers-Williams said she is “humbled” to have been asked to participate. “It is indeed an exhilarating experience to have the distinct honor of representing that era,” she said in a statement released by the PIC. The University of Arizona has announced that it has created a “Hip-Hop Concentration” minor under the Africana Studies department, the first of its kind for any institution, according to the  school’s website . The course’s objectives are to “provide students with a solid introduction and broad understanding of the origins and developing of the forms of expression that make up hip-hop culture throughout the world: hip-hop dance, rap music, graffiti/tagging, fashion, business, and film. A former draft pick for the Minnesota Vikings and current Arena League player died Saturday during a flag football tournament in Florida. Wide receiver Chandler Williams apparently died of natural causes, Local10 first reported. He was only 27 years old. The wide receiver was a seventh-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2007 out of Florida International. He got into NFL preseason games in four seasons but never played in a regular-season game, also spending time with the Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs. Williams also played for the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts. He caught 83 passes for 996 yards and 17 touchdowns while leading the AFL with a 23-yard kickoff return average for the Tampa Bay Storm last season. The 5’11” player graduated from Miami High School. (BLACKSCOOP) A would-be burglar was looking to cash in, but instead found himself in a world of pain when a Georgia mother who refused to be victimized shot him multiple times in the face and neck. The Loganville woman, who was not identified, was in the home with her 9-year-old twins when someone began ringing the doorbell. Thinking it was just a door-to-door salesperson, she didn’t answer. But after he kept ringing the damn doorbell, he began prying the door open with a crowbar. She quickly retreated to an attic crawlspace with the children, but not before she also picked up her handgun. The burglar, whom police identified as Paul Ali Slater, did a room-by-room search of the home, and when he reached the attic, she was ready with her .38 revolver. She fired all six rounds, missing only once. The other shots hit Slater about the face and neck. “The guy was face down, crying. An Albuquerque mother is behind bars Friday, accused of beating her infant daughter to death. The girl, who was about to turn one, was found dead in her own home just days before Christmas. Police arrested 21-year-old June Ortega, who they say is the baby’s mother, Thursday night and charged her with child abuse resulting in death. On December 21st police responded to Ortega’s apartment in Northwest Albuquerque where they found the baby, who they say had blue lips and wasn’t breathing. Efforts to revive the girl failed and she was pronounced dead. An autopsy later revealed that the girl had four skull fractures and hemorrhages in her chest and stomach. Doctors say it appears as if she was hit with a hammer-like object. Investigators say this tragedy is a clear cut case of abuse. “The amount of trauma is overwhelming. OMI ruled that this is without a doubt, a homicide. The injuries could not have been accidentally in nature,” Officer Tasia Martinez with APD...
