Joan Rivers Moved Out Of Intensive Care

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Joan Rivers’ daughter says  the comedian has now been moved out of intensive care. Melissa Rivers said in a statement on Wednesday that “my mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support.” The 81-year-old comedian went into cardiac and respiratory arrest  last Thursday while undergoing a vocal cord procedure at a private Upper East Side clinic. She was then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital , where she was placed in a medically induced coma. Rivers’ family said on Tuesday morning that she remained on life support . The family didn’t specify on Wednesday whether Rivers’ move out of ICU meant she had been removed from life support. Bernstein, Getty Images FERGUSON, Mo. -- Police in the St. Louis suburb where a white officer shot and killed an unarmed 18-year-old black teenager have started wearing body cameras, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson told the newspaper officers had the devices on during a protest march Saturday over the Aug. 9 shooting of Michael Brown by Ferguson officer Darren Wilson. Jackson said the department was given about 50 body cameras by two companies about a week ago. Disney has recently sold all but one of its remaining Radio Disney stations as it moves the brand to digital delivery. However, thousands of organizations, businesses, children and special events worldwide will be effected by the sale. Particularly the New England area. Disney Radio was a staple in the area with their Disney Kids team at various family-oriented special events. About 200 Disney Kids employees will no longer be able to educate and entertain children at these events. Another newly-launched Internet radio company based in New England promises to continue the live interactive indoor and outdoor “Block Parties” for kids, complete with their Blackberry Kids “Street Team” and the company’s mascot “Gullah Gator.” The station’s Program Coordinator has been contacted by hundreds of New England businesses looking for hosts for kid-friendly events that would have been hosed by Radio Disney. Are Police Profiting from 'Lost' Military Weapons?

A recent grand jury indictment against a former police chief from a small town in central Texas suggests that not all of the Pentagon's missing weapons are simply misplaced somewhere in a forgotten gun locker. A Fusion investigation published earlier this week revealed that 184 state and local police departments have been suspended from the Pentagon's "1033" military surplus transfer program for reporting missing weapons or failing to comply with other guidelines. The investigation uncovered a pattern of missing equipment, including military-issue M14 and M16 assault rifles, .45-caliber pistols, shotguns and even Humvees. Now, two federal indictments obtained by Fusion allege that some of that missing equipment — including an M14 assault rifle — was resold or transferred to unauthorized third parties by police officials.
