Lighty, 44 — a longtime manager of 50 Cent, Diddy, Ja Rule and Mariah Carey — was found dead inside his South Riverdale apartment about 11:30 a.m., police sources said. It appeared he died from a bullet to his head, sources said. A gun was recovered next to his body. Law enforcement sources said Lighty — who divorced his wife, Veronica, last year — may have been dealing with financial struggles, including owing about $5 million to the IRS. Musicians began Tweeting about Lighty soon after news of his death spread. “R.I.P. Chris Lighty,” posted Fat Joe on his Twitter account. “That man saved my life.”

Police say Jahvon Goodwin, 21, of Boston, stabbed 24-year-old Rashad Lesley-Barnes on Aug. 15 after an argument on an MBTA bus. Lesley-Barnes was pronounced deceased later that day. Police arrested Goodwin Wednesday morning and have charged him with murder. Goodwin is expected to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court Wednesday afternoon.

We learned Tyler Perry’s studios were burning again! Atlanta Fire crews were on the scene of a fire at the Tyler Perry Studios in southwest Atlanta late Monday morning. Now we know construction materials on top of a building in the complex went up in flames. No injuries were reported. This marks the second time in recent months that a fire was reported at the movie studios. You may remember back in May a four alarm fire damaged the huge Tyler Perry studio complex in southwest Atlanta. It took over 100 firefighters and 20 trucks slightly over one hour to put out the blaze that started around 8:40 p.m., according to Atlanta fire officials. Several eyewitnesses said they heard explosions and could see the fire from afar. Some said that they thought it was a part of a film production until they saw the fire trucks move in. A Georgia man was arrested after a friend said the man stole his identity and used it to practice medicine illegally. Ernest Osei Addo, 48, is accused of treating as many as 500 patients in South Carolina without a license. He was hired by Agape Senior, which operates 23 nursing and assisted living facilities throughout the Midlands area, in February. Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said he presented the company with a medical license. But an Orangeburg, S.C., doctor told police that Addo had stolen his identity. In addition to practicing medicine under his name, the doctor said, Addo was running up his credit card bills. Addo was arrested at his Austell, Ga., home Friday – two days after he quit his job at Agape Senior. Police are looking into whether he had any medical training or has ever had a license to practice medicine. He has no criminal record. In a statement, Agape Senior said Addo “came highly recommended

Two teenagers were arrested after cutting into the roof of a mall in Houston to steal Nike Air Jordan sneakers. A security guard at Greenspoint mall, on the north side of Houston, saw the thieves in the Foot Action store early Wednesday morning and called police. John Grant, 19, (seen below) and another male, 16, were arrested at the scene, but a third suspect believed to be around the same age fled. “We believe we know the identity of the third male who fled on foot and is still wanted,” Cannon said. One student shot another in a Baltimore area high school Monday, giving students a lesson in terror on their first day back in school, police said. The shooting at Perry Hall High School was reported around 11 a.m. and within minutes SWAT teams had surrounded the suburban school and students could be seen evacuating the buildings. Police quickly apprehended a suspected gunman and local TV showed footage of a shirtless young man in handcuffs being marched to a police cruiser. The suspect’s name was not known, but students posting on Facebook hinted at the horror they had just endured. “First day of school, last day of my life,” wrote one. The 17 year old victim, who had reportedly been shot in the back, was flown by chopper to a nearby hospital. The condition and identity of the student was not known. 4 American soldiers have been charged in a plot to overthrow the government and assassinate President Barack Obama, marking one of the most credible and high-profile plots on his life since his election in 2008. The soldiers, based in Georgia, allegedly planned to take over the state’s Fort Stewart and carry out bombings in Savannah and Washington state using $87,000 worth of “guns and bomb-making materials” they had allegedly amassed, according to the Atlantic Wire. A Camden, N.J., mother decapitated her 2-year-old son she only recently regained custody of before stabbing herself to death early Wednesday morning. 33 year old Chevonne Thomas, and her son, Zahree Thomas, were found dead by police who stormed their home after responding to a 911 call after midnight from the woman saying someone had harmed her son. The headless child was found on the first floor, his mother in her second floor bedroom, according to multiple media reports. The boy’s head was found in the freezer. When police first arrived, Chevonne Thomas was still on the phone with emergency operators. Not knowing if she was armed or if anyone else was still in the home, police retreated and formed a perimeter. By the time cops broke a second floor window and entered the residence, the woman was found dead from a self-inflicted stab wound to her neck. WFTV talked with a Casselberry man who’s behind bars after investigators said a 15-year-old girl claims she was gang raped while on a Carnival cruise ship. Investigators said the girl was raped on the Carnival Sensation cruise ship by the man who then encouraged other attackers to do the same. WFTV’s Jeff Deal talked with the suspect, 31-year-old Casey Dickerson, in jail on Tuesday. Dickerson denied raping anyone. “The cruise was great itself,” said Dickerson. It was supposed to be a fun vacation with his wife to the Bahamas, leaving on the Carnival Sensation from Port Canaveral last Thursday. Instead, Dickerson is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl while on board. “What did you guys do in that room?” Deal asked. “I’d rather not say,” replied Dickerson. “Did you rape that girl?” Deal asked. “Not at all,” he replied. According to investigators, a group of underage people asked Dickerson to buy them alcohol.
