Tina Turner Tribute "Be Tina" to be held in Harlem this Saturday

by Cashawna "Cash" Shakir Tina Turner's career spans more than five decades and the Grammy-award-winning Soul music superstar has won the heart of one Tempest Walker of New York who has decided to plan a 3-hour tribute dedicated to Ms. Turner's music. In an interview with BlackBerry Radio, Tempest explained her reason for producing the event in honor of the icon: "It was a small portrait of a woman on my grandfather's dresser that I used to walk past all the time. I probably walked past that photo about 15 years with no knowledge of who this woman was in the portrait." Boston City Hall's 15th annual GospelFest a huge success with Erica Campbell

by M.C. Spice   Boston, MAThousands gathered at Boston's City Hall Plaza for the 15th annual The GospelFest which featured headliner Erica Campbell. The Gospelfest is Boston’s premier Gospel showcase that attracts over 20,000 spectators annually. The GospelFest 2015 featured performances by some of New England's finest Gospel acts and choirs, including Jubilee Praise. Past headliners include Grammy Award winning artist Israel and the New Breed, Dottie Peoples, Bryan Cage and Kirk Franklin. This year’s 2015 headliner Grammy Award winning Erica Campbell, one half of the dynamic Gospel duo Mary Mary, and reality TV show star. The Gospelfest is always free and open to the public. Mayor Marty Walsh welcomed residents to The Gospel Fest 2015 with an opening prayer by the Reverend Jeffrey Brown, Senior Pastor of Boston's Twelfth Baptist Church.
