The parents of a 17-month-old have been arrested and charged after their child was accidentally shot in the face. The boy and another child, aged two-and-a-half, were allegedly left in a room with access to a gun. Mother Lesha Paris, 21, told police she heard a gun shot come from the room where both children were playing, at her home in Denver, Colorado. Paris and 26-year-old Darryl Hunter, the child’s father, ran to the room and discovered their son with gun shot wounds to the arm and the face. The child survived the wounds but is being treated at hospital. According to a police statement, Paris bought the gun – described as a black .40-caliber Taurus – in February. She kept the weapon in a case, inside a bag hidden behind the couch in the living room, the report states, According to the Denver Post, the police statement says: ‘[Paris] said she didn’t know what happened and who had fired the gunshot.’ Both Paris and...

A 19-year-old mom in Pennsylvania was found guilty of causing shocking injuries to her baby son. The boy suffered 9 broken bones between the ages of 15 and 22 months. Kiara Mayne Estright was convicted Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. Over a six month period in 2011 while the child lived with his mother in Reading, he suffered a bleeding skull fracture, two fractures to the same leg, a broken collarbone, a broken arm, a broken hand and three fractured ribs. He was alone with his mother when all of the fractures occurred, Assistant District Attorney Ellen R. West said in Berks County Court. He has not suffered any injuries since he moved in with a foster family, she added. Detectives said Estright told them the fractures had happened in accidents. Passengers on board Caribbean Airlines flight from Toronto to Jamaica on Monday, claim they were terrorized by a crazy lady, but from the looks of it, they — nor the flight crew, for that matter — did anything to stop her. Today’s egregious Florida gun crime comes to you from Port St. Joe, where police say 59-year-old Walton Henry Butler shot a man in the head last night, then sat down and ate dinner while the victim lay bleeding at his door. Police say Butler didn’t understand why he was being arrested, he told them “I only shot a nigger.” The victim, 32-year-old Everett Gant, had gone to Butler’s apartment to confront him about calling a child a “nigger” and making “several racial remarks to the black children in the apartment complex,” according to the police report. A packed double-decker Megabus blew a tire and slammed into a concrete bridge support pillar on an Illinois interstate Thursday, leaving at least one person dead and more than two dozen others injured, officials said. Illinois State Police Trooper Doug Francis said at least one person was killed in the afternoon wreck of the discount charter bus, which was traveling from Chicago to Kansas City. Add former NFL player Jamal Lewis to the list of jail and baby momma drama. The 32 year old ex-player spent a few hours being bars in Atlanta for not paying child support. Lewis is accused of failing to pay child support, according to his arrest warrant. He was charged with child abandonment, a misdemeanor, and booked into the jail shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to the AJC. He was released shortly after midnight Wednesday. Lewis allegedly has had no contact with his son for more than a year, the arrest warrant states. The estate of Malcolm X can count on Spike Lee. After getting word that the slain civil rights leader’s estate owes a Manhattan Mini Storage $2,447 — or the contents of its unit will go up for auction — Spike wanted to help out. “Have them call me; I’ll take care of it,” Lee said at a Grand Classics screening of “Midnight Cowboy” at the W Downtown. Spike directed Denzel Washington as the lead character in his 1992 film “Malcolm X.” But he may not ultimately need to write a check, it seems.
