18-year-old woman charged in fatal stabbing is ordered held as bail violator
By Kate Bramson Journal Staff Writer PROVIDENCE, R.I. — An 18-year-old Natashza Charon of Providence, charged earlier this month with manslaughter after a stabbing in the Olneyville neighborhood was held without bail Tuesday after admitting she had violated bail on a prior charge, according to the Attorney General’s Office. Natashza Charon was ordered held for 45 days at a Tuesday hearing in District Court, Providence. Bail was also set Tuesday at $50,000 with surety on the new charge of manslaughter, spokeswoman Amy Kempe said. Charon was charged on May 15 with manslaughter after the stabbing death two days earlier of Jaheim Carter, 15, of Providence. When Charon was arrested, the police said that she and her boyfriend, whom they did not identify because he is a minor, had been walking on a Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Amherst and Julian Streets.
