President Obama Announces the Death of Osama Bin Laden
On May 1, 2011 shortly after 11:00 p.m., President Barack Obama officially announced the death of Osama Bin Laden. The al Qeada terrorist leader responsible for attack on America on September 11, 2001 was shot and killed inside of a compound in Pakistan, right next door to Afghanistan. The military reported Bin Laden was shot in the left eye during a shootout with CIA agents. His DNA was matched to DNA on file, and his body was identified by his young wife.
