Christopher Dorner was engaged in a shootout with federal authorities in the Big Bear area Tuesday, a law enforcement source told The Times. The shooting occurred after Dorner burglarized a home, tied up a couple and stole their car, the source said. It was not immediately clear whether Dorner was in custody. A suspected gunman and two women were killed after shots were fired inside a courthouse in Delaware, police say. Wilmington police said a man walked into the lobby of the New Castle County Courthouse on Monday morning and opened fire. Delaware State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack said officers exchanged gunfire with the shooter before he passed metal detectors. Shavack did not say whether the shooter killed the two women or whether they were killed in the gunfire. Shavack also did not say how the shooter died. Shavack said police had not confirmed that one of the women was the shooter’s estranged wife, though earlier in the day the city’s mayor said that was the case. Two police officers suffered injuries that were not life threatening.   A security guard was also hit in the gunfire and had his cheek grazed by a bullet, Wilmington Mayor Dennis Williams said. Chicago cops arrested two suspects Sunday morning who are being questioned in the death of slain teen Hadiya Pendleton, officials confirmed with NBC. The suspects were pulled over on the South side of Chicago after detectives canvassed the area around Harsh Park, Chicago police said. Sources close to the investigation said no charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing. The new information comes one day after First Lady Michelle Obama attended the funeral for the 15-year-old, whose death has put Chicago gun violence in the spotlight. Pendleton was killed last Tuesday on the city’s South Side days after she performed at some of President Barack Obama’s recent inauguration festivities.
