Beverly Hills Police Department Concludes Whitney Houston Death Investigation

At a press conference earlier today, the Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed the conclusion of the death investigation of Queen of Pop, Whitney Houston. Police say there are a team of investigators assigned to case, but as of this date, it is a Coroner's case. Police said they would not comment further on the condition of Whitney's body, the condition of her body, or the condition of her room.

Police re-stated that this is now a Coroner's case, and that there will not be any more information coming from the Beverly Hills Police Department until the Coroner has completed their investigation and the toxicology results have been completed. Police say at this time, they will not speculate as to the cause of Whitney's death or what may have contributed to her untimely passing. Police also did not confirm any information about prescription drugs in Houston's hotel, but did say that information did not come from any official source within the police Department.

According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, the entire case of Whitney Houston's death is now sealed as standard protocol. Once the the conclusion of the investigation is done, the specifics and the 9-1-1 tapes will be released to the media. Police say these procedures help reserve the integrity of their department. Police also could not confirm whether any prescription drugs dispensed by the Mickey Kline Pharmacy in Beverly Hills (same pharmacy where Michael Jackson and other celebrities have received drugs, and also the pharmacy which was reportedly under investigation).

Police finished the press conference saying: "We don't know the cause of death, we would not (have) relayed that information to anybody. We're waiting for the Coroner's office to tell us what the cause of death was." The police department remained clear that they were not investigating a death, not a homicide and that their investigation of the matter is now over. Whitney Houston's body was flown from Los Angeles to New Jersey on Monday.

Funeral arrangements are set for Friday or Saturday.
