R&B singer-turned-pastor Montell Jordan has taken to Twitter.com to
assure fans he is alive and well following reports of his death on
Thursday.
The This Is How We Do It hitmaker was said to have been found dead in Atlanta, Georgia, with the rumor quickly spreading on social networking sites and becoming a top trend.
Jordan headed online to clear up the gossip, declaring on Twitter, “Sorry to disappoint… But I’m a new daddy and still got a lot of living to do! My son just told me I can’t be dead because I’m sitting here talking to him.
“I can’t be dead. I don’t have an album coming out this week. It kinda sucks to have to be dead to trend. I’m gonna play a family game now. Please don’t kill me again.”
Poking fun at the hoax, he adds, “My boy Shaggy just hit me to ask if I was dead. I told him ‘it wasn’t me.’”
