ANGRY WIFE DRIVES SUV THRU BUILDING TO KILL HUBBY

A Utah woman was suffering from panic attacks and had taken too much Xanax when she crashed her SUV through the lobby of a building in an attempt to mow down her estranged husband, her defense attorney argued.

36 year old Brenda Christine White, went on trial this week on charges of attempted murder and criminal mischief in connection with the 2006 incident, which was caught on surveillance video (seen below). The case against White has been stuck in appeals as her lawyers tried to use an “extreme emotional distress defense.”
As the trial got under way, her lawyer said White was heavily medicated on Xanax to deal with the stress of her divorce from Jon Robert White. “At some point in our lives we have all done or said something that we wouldn’t have done if we were in total control of our body,” her attorney told jurors.
Six years after being chased by his wife’s SUV, Jon Robert White teared up remembering the incident, which left him with a broken leg and other injuries. He testified the two had been arguing at his office about financial matters related to the divorce, and his wife was playing the song “Angry Johnny” by Poe on repeat.

She allegedly repeated the lyrics to him in a threatening manner. “”I want to kill you. I want to blow you away.” He said Brenda White called him a “parasite,” and said I’m going to “wipe you off the face of the Earth.” Later that day, as White was walking to his car in the parking garage, he testified he saw Brenda White’s Ford Explorer and heard screeching tires. “She looked at me with very cold, vicious eyes,” he said.


White began running as the SUV chased him, crashing over a concrete wall and pursuing him across a grassy knoll.

He tried to take cover by running inside the lobby of an office building, but White allegedly crashed the car through the glass doors, striking him. She then allegedly pursued him down a hallway in the SUV before he could duck to safety. White said he hid in a utility closet until a maintenance person found him.
Brenda White’s trial is expected to continue through Thursday. Her lawyer’s maintain she did not intend to kill her husband.

According to her Facebook page, Brenda White works in the hotel industry.

Run-D.M.C. Producer Larry Smith Dead at 63

Larry Smith, producer of some of the most cherished hip-hop records of the Eighties, including Run-D.M.C. 's first two albums, died Thursday at the age of 63. Radio host Combat Jack broke the news on Twitter , writing: "Just spoke to his family. RIP Larry Smith, the original King of Beats who passed away last night." A Queens native, Smith began his career as a session musician and quickly struck up a partnership with Kurtis Blow after playing bass on "Christmas Rappin'."  Smith would continue to play on a number of Blow's tracks, co-writing a few as well, including the MC's breakthrough record, "The Breaks,"  which became the first rap record to be certified gold. Smith then began working with Blow's manager at the time, Russell Simmons.
