SPIKE LEE OFFERS TO PAY OFF MALCOLM X’S DEBT

The estate of Malcolm X can count on Spike Lee. After getting word that the slain civil rights leader’s estate owes a Manhattan Mini Storage $2,447 — or the contents of its unit will go up for auction — Spike wanted to help out.
“Have them call me; I’ll take care of it,” Lee said at a Grand Classics screening of “Midnight Cowboy” at the W Downtown. Spike directed Denzel Washington as the lead character in his 1992 film “Malcolm X.”
But he may not ultimately need to write a check, it seems. The estate says it’s paying the bill, and that the storage unit doesn’t contain any valuables that belonged to Malcolm.

What do you think?

  1. I'm so confused... This whole story makes no sense. Why would Malcolm X's estate still have a storage unit? And if there's nothing in that belongs to him, why is it a part of his estate? smh... I just confused myself even more.
