“WATCH YA SELF!” MYSTIKAL OUT OF JAIL

Watch Ya’self! After spending more than two months in jail for violating his probation, TMZ reports that Mystikal is a free man.

The celebrity news website confirmed that the Cash Money rapper was released from the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail in Louisiana Friday morning (August 3). He began his 90-day sentence, after being arrested for domestic abuse, thus violating his probation, back on May 14.

In late April, Birdman gave his full support for Mystikal. “Them little 80 days, them ain’t about nothing,” Birdman told XXL. “We’ll be on his next single as he comes home. From the concrete, straight to the concrete. Ya heard me.”



Hearing that, Mystikal told XXL how appreciative he is of Baby and the entire YMCMB family, but acknowledged that it was up to him to right his wrongs once he’s released.

“[Birdman’s] being supportive, but he’s hurt behind this shit and it’s on me,” Mystikal revealed in May. “When a lot of good things come, it seems like that fall gotta come. I gotta make this good and ya’ll know I am.

Run-D.M.C. Producer Larry Smith Dead at 63

Larry Smith, producer of some of the most cherished hip-hop records of the Eighties, including Run-D.M.C. 's first two albums, died Thursday at the age of 63. Radio host Combat Jack broke the news on Twitter , writing: "Just spoke to his family. RIP Larry Smith, the original King of Beats who passed away last night." A Queens native, Smith began his career as a session musician and quickly struck up a partnership with Kurtis Blow after playing bass on "Christmas Rappin'."  Smith would continue to play on a number of Blow's tracks, co-writing a few as well, including the MC's breakthrough record, "The Breaks,"  which became the first rap record to be certified gold. Smith then began working with Blow's manager at the time, Russell Simmons.
