Billboard Music Awards and L.A. Reid Pimp Michael Jackson

L.A. Reid, the man who is well known for destroying the lives of many artists, including TLC, and the man who tainted Def Jam Records, showed the world just how much of a money-hungry, egotistical jerk he really is when he released the new Michael Jackson album featuring lackluster production and "duets" with artists who aren't even on Michael Jackson's level. The song featuring Justin Timberlake sounds more like Justin Timberlake featuring Michael Jackson.

Everybody's trying to get a piece of the late Michael Jackson, and the move was strategically calculated with the installation of L.A. Reid at Sony. What's interesting, is that none of the Jackson family were given a chance to be a part of the process whatsoever. Now in death, Reid owns a piece of Michael and our the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez.

The hologram "performance" of Michael Jackson at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards was not what the perfectionist what have wanted at all. Though many saw the spectacle as amazing, many more saw right into the nightmare that Sony is. Michael Jackson's posthumous performance may have garnered Sony a lot of attention for the new album these snakes are pushing, but the video below is what everyone should remember concerning Michael and what he went to his grave believing about Sony. Never forget that Michael called Tommy Motolla "the devil" in 2002. He never changed that view. Is it a coincidence that the song is entitled: "Slave To The Rhythm?"

Run-D.M.C. Producer Larry Smith Dead at 63

Larry Smith, producer of some of the most cherished hip-hop records of the Eighties, including Run-D.M.C. 's first two albums, died Thursday at the age of 63. Radio host Combat Jack broke the news on Twitter , writing: "Just spoke to his family. RIP Larry Smith, the original King of Beats who passed away last night." A Queens native, Smith began his career as a session musician and quickly struck up a partnership with Kurtis Blow after playing bass on "Christmas Rappin'."  Smith would continue to play on a number of Blow's tracks, co-writing a few as well, including the MC's breakthrough record, "The Breaks,"  which became the first rap record to be certified gold. Smith then began working with Blow's manager at the time, Russell Simmons. The two co-produced a handful of tracks for Jimmy Spicer – including the oft-sampled "Money (Dollar Bill Y'All)"  – before helping make hip-hop history with Run-D.M.C.'s
