NY COLLEGE PROFESSOR BEHEADED BY SON WHO THEN KILLS HIMSELF BY TRAIN
The woman who was beheaded Tuesday night at her Long Island apartment was identified as a beloved longtime professor at Farmingdale State College.
Patricia Ward of Farmingdale was a 28-year veteran faculty member who taught language arts, said Patrick Calabria, vice president of institutional advancement at the college.
“We are in shock,” he told The Post. “The staff in her department is teary-eyed. We are providing counseling to the staff who need it. It’s a very sad day. A lot of people are taking it very hard.”
Ward was beheaded by her son, a source said. He dragged her body out of the Farmingdale apartment and into the street where he kicked her severed head about 20 feet, Nassau County cops and witnesses said.
He then jumped in front of an LIRR train, his body was found about a mile from the murder scene, cops said.
Some of the horrified neighbors initially thought the headless body was a Halloween prank, only finding out it was real when they tried to lift the lifeless body, witnesses said.
