Martial Arts school offers alernative to after school programs

(Dorchester, MA) - Master Tarif Aziz is up and running around early each morning for his Save Another Youth Tae Kwon Do martial arts school. It's another beautiful summer and Aziz gases up his van for morning pickups as he does every morning before the day begins. During the summer, Save Another Youth offers classes Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. with an extra hour on Tuesday and Thursday for martial arts training. Monday and Wednesday are dedicated to Math, English and sports like baseball, soccer, and other activities that strengthen the students' minds and bodies.

A non-profit organization serving inner city youth, Save Another Youth Tae Kwon Do has won several local, regional and national medals and trophies. Their model is simple: teach the children the importance of education, history and respect of others. Each year, Save Another Youth also offers the after school program with an extended week. Monday-Friday, parents can rest assured their children are in the best of care, and Master Aziz doesn't believe in "snacks." He says: "we give the children meals when they're with us. We love to feed them."

Save Another Youth Tae Kwon Do practices in Dorchester at the Master Aziz has taught his own children and they all have black belts. All but his baby daughter who is well on her way to having a black belt soon. Spaces are still available for the after school program and the payments are $225/month.

The qualified instructors at Save Another Youth Tae Kwon Do have over 120 years of teaching experience combined, including specialties in self defense, point sparring, Olympic sparring,  and much more. The staff includes:


Grand Master Su Ra

Grand Master Shu Ra has over 50 years of martial arts experience and has been teaching martial arts since 1971.

Grand Master Shu Ra first taught at the school he learned from the Holy House of Ra and then in 1972 he was commissioned to teach at the University of Massachusetts.

 Since then Grand Master Shu Ra has traveled the country competing in tournaments and teaching seminars on Shotokan Karate and the Egyptian Form. Grand Master Shu Ra has given back tremendously to out youth in that he volunteers his time to teach them the values and honor code taught by the martial arts to enhance the lives of those he comes into contact with.
Master Tarif Aziz

Master Tarif Aziz has over 30 years experience in martial arts with over 10 years experience in teaching. Master Tarif Aziz has held two National Olympic Style Sparring Championship titles while competing  in the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) and locally with the Police Athletic League known as PAL.

Master Aziz is the Director of Educational Studies for The Save Another Youth Taekwondo(SAY-T INC) After School Program and chief instructor of Save Another Youth Taekwondo.

Master Aziz has an A.A in Psychology and is currently studying for his Bachelor's Degree in education. His goal is to obtain a Doctorate in Education so he can give back where it counts and become a part of the solution.

Every year Say-T Inc travels to New Jersey to qualify for the Florida  AAU Taekwondo Nationals. It is during these travels that the children learn some of life's most important lessons. This is what keeps them off the streets, they have something to look forward to.

Mary Cunniff

Sabunim Mary is a 4th Dan Black Belt and a Trusted Instructor.

Sabunim Mary is a 2 time Bronze Medalist at the AAU National Taekwondo Championships as well as numerous local titles. Sabunim Mary has been studying martial arts for over 30 years.  At age 50 she is still kicking with the best of them.

Sabunim Mary is dedicated to educating our youth. Her job with the Weymouth Public Schools allows her to see first hand what the youth are in need of and she is a asset to us all

Robert Stevenson: Grand Master Stevenson holds the Grand Master Rank of 6th degree in Woosekwan Taekwondo which he co-founded and created. He holds an 8th degree Black Belt in Korean Taekwondo and a 2nd degree in Karate. Grand Master Stevenson has been teaching in the community for over 30 years and continues to this day to give back in amazing ways. He teaches martial arts at Edward M. Kennedy High School in Roxbury. He also teaches at the Mildred Community Center in Mattapan. 

Grand Master Stevenson serves on the board of directors for Save Another Youth Taekwondo Inc. 

He is the Co-founder/President of Woosekwan Taekwondo Association, Co-founder/Vice President of The New England Society of Martial Arts.

He holds multiple certifications is physical fitness, personal training, kids fitness, boot camp specialist and much more.
