Erica also performed some Mary Mary hits, including "The God In Me" and "Shackles." In an interview with BlackBerry Radio's M.C. Spice, Erica Campbell explained her creative process:
"Creativity never stops. I wrote a song last night. I wrote a song last week. I write songs on the airplane. If I'm in my car, I stop (to write). My memo on my phone is full of songs. Sometimes the lyrics comes first, sometimes the music comes first. You just allow yourself to be fully creative and be inspired by everything around you. It could be sounds outside, a homeless man on the street; someone wiping their kid's nose. I can always fins some sense of creativity in everything I do."
Erica Campbell's new single "I Luh God" is a Hiphop-inspired song and Erica is rapping the verses with a natural cadence and flow. The backing track is a pick-me-up, bouncy rap track and the catchy hook has gotten the attention of the younger fans, making the song the #1 top Digital Gospel song. Her video has reached nearly one million viewers on youtube.
