Pokémon Go: Player Led to Dead Body in Nashu

 Nashua, NH — A man playing Pokémon Go in search of virtual creatures in Nashua Thursday stumbled across a dead body floating in a brook, police said.
The grisly discovery was made in Salmon Brook at Rotary Park in downtown Nashua. That area has a "Pokestop" where players congregate.
The man called police at about 2 p.m.
"Apparently the person ... was playing this Pokémon game, which led him to an obscure spot," Nashua police Lt. Robert Giggi told reporters. "That's how he came across the victim."
The victim was an adult man, Giggi said. Police were working to identify him. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday.
Pokémon Go is a wildly popular augmented reality game that has players search the physical world to capture virtual creatures. It has quickly become the most popular video game on the planet, reportedly exceeding 8 million downloads and counting since its release last week.
Coupled with the frenzy are concerns about safety. The game is essentially a real-world scavenger hunt, with "Pokéstops" and "gyms" at landmarks like libraries, parks and police stations.
Robberies have been reported, and a teenager stumbled across a dead body in Wyoming while playing the game.

Run-D.M.C. Producer Larry Smith Dead at 63

Larry Smith, producer of some of the most cherished hip-hop records of the Eighties, including Run-D.M.C. 's first two albums, died Thursday at the age of 63. Radio host Combat Jack broke the news on Twitter , writing: "Just spoke to his family. RIP Larry Smith, the original King of Beats who passed away last night." A Queens native, Smith began his career as a session musician and quickly struck up a partnership with Kurtis Blow after playing bass on "Christmas Rappin'."  Smith would continue to play on a number of Blow's tracks, co-writing a few as well, including the MC's breakthrough record, "The Breaks,"  which became the first rap record to be certified gold.
