A Rap Song About Paris Hilton

Image
There's a rap song about the iconic heiress and Hollywood socialite  Paris Hilton  and it crept up out of nowhere, literally. Written and performed by  MC Spice The Legend , the song  Paris Hilton  takes the listener into the world of Hollywood where the rapper shows up for a party at a nightclub and Paris Hilton is the DJ. The catchy chorus "living my best life in Hollywood and Paris Hilton is my deejay", caught the ears of  Ice T  manager and  Art Of Rap  tour co-founder  Mickey Bentson , who signed MC Spice to his  PayUp Records  label. Says Benston, "this guy [MC Spice] has something. He knows what the people want to hear and he's bringing back the artistry of Rap music, with a kaleidoscope of song styles. He's not afraid to be an artist." The radio stations that caught on right away, knew they were dealing with another Hiphop artist who would push the envelope, the way  Lauryn Hill, Black Eyed Peas, Bone-Thugs-...

There ARE no white 'Rap Gods'

Image
Hiphop Culture will celebrate forty-four years this November when the Zulu Nation simultaneously celebrates its forty-third anniversary. Founded by the Zulu Nation with DJ Kool Herc heralded as the Godfather of the Culture, the four spiritual principals of Hiphop have become the pillars: Peace, Unity, Love and Having Fun. Too many followers of Hiphop confuse the Culture with rap, a physical element used to push forth the principles and ideals of the Culture. Time and time again, they get it dead wrong. At present is the bug fuss about Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly's so-called 'beef' and Eminem calling himself "God of Rap." We all know he never was, currently isn't, and could never be the God of Rap. This is especially true due to the fact that the God's before him had already created Rap music long before he was born. To take it further, and to credit Muhammad Ali and Cab Calloway (and many more) Rap and rhyming's history dates back to their creati...

By  Lynn Arditi   PROVIDENCE, R.I.-- State health officials on Wednesday released  new standards  to improve hospital emergency rooms' treatment of patients addicted to opioids. Rhode Island is the first in the country to develop such statewide guidelines, state Health Director Nicole Alexander-Scott said. The Rhode Island Department of Health's new standards follow  passage last spring  of a state law -- The Alexander Perry and Brandon Goldner Act -- designed to improve treatment for people with substance abuse disorders following the overdose deaths of the sons of two prominent Rhode Islanders. The law was passed after the opioid overdose deaths of the son of Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner and his wife, Barbara Goldner, and the son of former Sen. Rhoda Perry. The Goldner's 23-year-old was treated at Rhode Island Hospital's emergency room  seven times in three months  prior to his death in 2015. All hospital-based and freestanding emergen...

By Victor Ochieng A Pahokee man could spend years behind bars for a heartless act he allegedly committed. A police arrest report says that Andre Brown, 26, is being held without bond for raping and impregnating a 13-year-old girl during a funeral service held at a church. Image
By Tara Evans African-Americans are leaving their mark in the corporate world in the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fortune 500 companies. These individuals have spent a lifetime breaking down doors and leaping over barriers. Unfortunately, it is important to note that they are doing it at a declining rate. Nonetheless, here are three African-American CEOs that seem to be doing it well! #1 Ursula M. Burns of Xerox Ursula M.
